Carers Need Care Too!

Since our lock down because of the Covid 19 virus on March the 14th our care team have been functioning as normal, looking after our clients with extra care of course and in some cases patients recovering from hospital. However in some cases we have become more aware of how much pressure family and friends have been under caring for loved one´s who need help in every day life. We have had to step in a few times during this strange time and give support.

Our major concerns are that carers need care too and in these cases we have offered respite care so these angels get a break. It is essential for mental health that as carers you get a break even if it is just a few hours to go shopping, run errands, go to the beach or have some much needed time out with friends. Looking after people with a mental illness, injury or disabilities can take its toll especially for those not trained or experienced. We know how hard it is to see loved ones health deteriorate which is why we do what we do.

Caring for You at Home has an amazing, compassionate, highly experienced team who between them have over 30 years experience in all of our services. Some have been trained nurses, and others trained carers and now we have Carl Regan on board who is a trained Psychiatrist and offers many different services. Asking for help or a break away from caring for a loved one is not being selfish. It is imperative carers take care of themselves also.

Caring for loved one´s can be a lonely existence for some which is why we offer respite and holiday care to alleviate stress and worry caused by lack of time to oneself. Everyone needs a break to recharge and relax. Our respite and holiday care can be from just 2 hours a day to overnight stays and live-in. Call us or email us 24/7, 365 days a year we are here for you!
