A New Year and New Covid-19

As we enter into 2021 the world is still suffering the affects of Covid-19 and now in a new form. In Spain we have a rise of 25% infections in a week which is extremely worrying. Could this be due to the fact people have socialised more over Christmas or is there worse to come?? Half of Spain´s regions are above the extreme levels as it´s been recorded the 14 day cumulative number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants has increased.

Our Valuable Work Continues 24/7

In Valencia we are relatively lucky thanks to the strict border control put in place until the 15th of January. Allowances are made for the  Caring for You at Home team as we continue our valuable care at home work throughout the Southern Costa Blanca and Murcia regions. As the care home situation worsens and visits are banned our home visits and stays with our clients are invaluable. Enabling vulnerable people to stay in their own homes and be cared for by our amazing team is why we do what we do. Our care work over the Christmas and New Year season has been even more important as family members cannot travel here and it looks like this situation will remain as the UK goes into a strict lock down. Our Careline Live Management system has been really useful so families of our clients can check in on their loved one’s care notes with out having to get in touch.

However, we must stay positive even though the news isn’t! At least we can go outside, walk the dogs, enjoy the sun mid-afternoon and top up on that all important Vitamin D. What have we learned from the Covid-19 pandemic? For us it has made us appreciate the simple things in life, like cooking, enjoying our garden, calling friends rather than texting or messaging and remaining positive about the future now the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna´s vaccine has arrived.

Things can only get better as the song goes!
